Djokovic Delivers Warning to Jannik Sinner: Suspension Will Follow Him Like a "Shadow"
The tennis star has warned Jannik Sinner that his three-month ban for doping will persist over his career like a "cloud" – while also questioning the scheduling of the sanction last year.

The Italian player served a three-month suspension in early 2025 after the World Anti-Doping Agency accepted his explanation that a banned anabolic steroid, clostebol, had entered his system accidentally.
"That cloud will follow him just as the Covid controversy will follow me, for the remainder of our respective careers," Djokovic stated in an interview on Piers Morgan: Uncensored.
"It is a situation where, it was so significant, and when that happens, over time it will fade, but I don't think it will disappear. There's always going to be a certain group of people that will continually reference the incident."

Djokovic expressed belief that Sinner, a regular practice partner, "had no intentional involvement", but he then scrutinized how the Italian managed to complete his ban without missing a grand slam.
"The absence of openness, the irregularity, the convenience [of] the ban coming between the slams, so he avoids skipping important competitions – it simply appeared highly unusual," he further commented.
